I know I'm not a great test taker but I was at least content with my actual SAT score of an 1880. I've only taken it once so I can figure I can get it up as long as I review math. However, for my SAT II's (the scores just came out), I got a 660 on Literature, 690 on US History, and a 560 (yikes) on Math I. How bad are these scores? And should I not bother sending them to any schools unless it's one of the few that require them?

No, frankly. But you’ll get there if it’s your first time. If you’re sending 3 scores, to be average, you’ll want 2 scores above 700 and 1 with a high 600s score.

Agree with @BassGuitar but try to take Math 2 instead. The curve is nicer too

Thanks to both of you. I didn’t take Math II though because I have yet to take Pre-Calc so I was advised not to take it since I wouldn’t know all of the material. What killed me on Math I wasn’t that it was hard but that I ran out of time so I left quite a few blank.

And yes, all of these were my first time and I think I can do way better on Lit. But, at my school, AP Lit is a senior class and AP Lang and Comp is a junior class. So, for the last year, we have just worked with essays and speeches and haha, NO POETRY. AT ALL. Though, honestly, I’m not sure when I’ll find time to retake any of them but thanks, maybe I’ll just call it quits and go to clown school. :)

Are they terrible for what school? Not all schools require them.

So you’re a Sophomore and you’re already stressing about Subject Tests and the SAT? Dude… go play outside. Seriously.

@BassGuitar, no I’m going to be a senior in the fall? What made you think I was a sophomore?

Edit: Oh, is it because of the math situation? Yeah, I chose not to go the honors route in high school which was really stupid of me since I would have probably done fine. I took Algebra 1 as a freshman, Geometry as a sophomore, and Honors Algebra 2 as a junior. Next year, I will be taking Honors Pre-Calc which is typically a junior class at my school for kids on the honors math track. If I had taken honors math, I would have done Honors Algebra 2 as a freshman… but my school actually just changed it so now that’s only a junior/sophomore class. It’s complicated.

And I meant that I took AP Lang & Comp as a junior and will be taking AP Lit next year.

@jjmopp It was actually your statement that AP Lit was for Seniors and AP English was for Juniors, which made me think you were neither. Sorry about that.

Based upon your chance me thread, none of those schools require subject tests. I would not worry about it.

@skieurope Thank you! I know they don’t but I believe Northeastern and BU will consider them so I was hoping by some stroke of god I would knock the Lit and US History subject tests out of the park and they would help me significantly. Alas, that does not seem to be the case… But, thanks. I’m just going to focus on getting my actual SAT score up.

The Lit and USH scores are above average; you can send those if you want.

I would focus on retaking the SAT to get to a 2000 so you have a stronger chance.
Try to retake the subject tests if possible. You will do better the second time.

I consider 700 a great score so the lit one is good and the US History one is also very good
