Are transfer students eligible for scholarships?

Hey, i havent looked too hard for an answer but i'd still like to know. Any transfer students receive any scholarships? also, have you all applied for financial aid yet? thanks.

Not that I know of, but I’d like to know to. I have 7000 from njstars, but that’s it. I filled out my fasfa, but only updated it recently with all the schools I got in to. My EOF is a lil over 22,000, but idk yet if I’m getting anything financial aid wise. How will you know if you’re getting any financial aid.

There’s a couple scholarships available for transfers. Says it right on the website.

That being said, I still can’t even view my initial offer. Submitted my FAFSA in early January, but I just had my tax returns done and I was told they can’t “package me” until I send it up. Rutgers is really starting to get on my nerves…already.

You have to wait for your tax returns for your fafsa to be complete, this mandatory for every school. Trust me, EVERYBODY hates fafsa.

Just to get an initial offer? Rutgers says to send in your FAFSA with estimated info as soon as possible, even before you file. Does this mean I’m missing out on funds since the returns were just completed, or have I already been considered for an aid amount since I sent my FAFSA way back in january…I just need to confirm everything with supporting documents?

Basically, I’m asking if you think they started looking at aid for me when I sent in my FAFSA with estimated info, or if they only start looking after everything is in (in which case, I hope there’s some aid left for me.)

Can you help me answer this, JenniferRU? Thanks :)

Your Fafsa package is not complete until you have all the required documents, so you will get no offers until everything is in, atleast you didn’t get chosen for verification, now THAT sucks.

Wow just checked out the transfer scholarships. I already have njstars, but I’m elligable for the others since I have over a 3.8 and am in PTK. Well I guess they automatically give everyone a chance and then select people.
Thank god for merit based bc I already know I’m not getting a penny from financial aid. Though it’d be great to have both.

Have any transfers received scholarship notification yet?

Unfortunately, I’m not eligible for the PTK one. I’m graduating with a 3.9 GPA, but my school never invited me to join PTK. Feel completely cheated there…

At least I might be eligible for the other…

I haven’t heard anything, but I think the site said April.

Oh and you have to enroll as well…Darn!

Well I accepted my enrollment a couple days ago…though I would have liked to wait. Was torn between RBS Newark and TCNJ, but I took the plunge.

Got all my required documents up there I think, so I guess it’s a waiting game now.

Only thing I’m a little tweaked about is the placement exam for math I’m required to take. I need basic calc my first semester, so if I don’t place in I don’t know what I’ll do…as it’s required as a prereq for everything after the first semester for me. A little off topic, but do you guys think I could get it waived or something? Probably worrying more than I should, but I don’t need a delay.
