<p>I filed the FAFSA in January and just received a notification about an "initial offer" of aid from Rutgers--they're only offering the $5,500 loan... No grant/merit/etc.</p>
<p>Is there anything I'm missing? Besides the FAFSA, is there any state aid application or something that I should be filing? </p>

<p>Was your EFC low enough that you were expecting need based aid? Were your SAT scores and class rank high enough to qualify you for merit aid?</p>
<p>No other form beyond fafsa is required. We got that postcard too. RU posts required stats for merit awards - if you have the gpa/sats to meet that, I would think you can look into appealing your aid award?</p>
<p>Sorry for the bump, but when do we get notification from Rutgers about our FAFSA results and our financial aid package? I filled one in 2/27 and haven’t gotten anything back yet. Do they mail you the award letter? I am in-state.</p>
