If not, I'm going to live in the nearby Abbey West apartments by Campus Apartments. Apparently, because one of the people who heads the College Bound group that I'm in is neighbors with the CEO of Campus Apartments, I will get to live in any Campus Apartments anywhere in the US for free for the time I'm in college! So do freshmen have to live on campus at UGA?

Sounds like a very good deal, but, yes, freshmen are required to live on campus (unless their parents live close by)

Thanks for your response! That’s no problem to me since I’ll meet a ton of people just by living in the dorms. But after freshman year is over, I’m out! I’ll be enjoying the Abbey West apartments lol

Do you have a car? That will be crucial because Abbey West is not that close to campus. It’s probably at least a 15-20 minute drive (meanwhile there are apartments that are 5 minutes away from campus)

This may answer your question.

Living on campus is a great experience. You’ll be able to meet more people, get involved with clubs and events and enjoy the traditional college living experience. As a freshman, you’ll have plenty to get adjusted to. You don’t want to have to worry about paying rent and cooking all the while. Athens has great off-campus apartments for the rest of your Bulldog years. Enjoy your dorms no matter how small!
