I live in California, and really want to go to the University of Washington. I heard public universities (in particular U of W!?) are bringing in more out of state students to get more money from tuition. This true? Also, this is sort of random, but does it really help my chances if I say that I am Hispanic in my apps? I am 50% Puerto Rican, and was told that I can technically consider myself Hispanic.

wow i wish that were true
I’m actually trying to get IN to california universities
but yeah we’re basically in the same situation

Depends on the college. I’m not sure about University of Washington, but I’ve heard University of Vermont and the University of California schools are trying to attract OOS students because they tend to pay the full tab.

And yes, putting down that you’re Hispanic gives your application a boost.

Yes, Hispanic= application boost definitely.

Dear Anyone,
PLEASE help me,
I’ve been searching for the link to post a new thread for the past 10 minutes, and still can’t find it
Can someone please tell me how to “Post a new thread” ?

Thank you so much.

wow I just realized i typed “expecting” rather than “accepting”

It’s okay, cause according to Hannah Montana “Everybody makes mistakes!” and “Nobody’s perfect!” :)

Do you know how to post a new thread, Mr. bmr0127?

just go to your chosen forum and scroll to the top of the thread listings. there should be a gray box that says new thread!!

There was a big deal made of the UW accepting a lot more OOS students this year, but it won’t be that much easier
