Are we held accountable/do we HAVE to take the AP tests we reported?

We'll be okay if we take like half the AP tests for our classes right?
Aside from whether or not we should, our admission offer can't be rescinded because we didn't take all the tests right?

Personally, I only took 3 (so half) of the AP tests I said I would take senior year...I think it's ok.

I don't think the admission specifically implied that you would be taking your AP tests. I'm only taking 1, because the other AP class I have I'm going to have to repeat anyways, so it shoots down the only incentive I have of taking a test senior year when decisions are all pretty finalized (college credit and such)

If you said specifically on the app that you would take the tests, then it's a condition you must meet. If, however, you did not specify, then you do not have to meet that condition.

Can anyone confirm UCLAri's comment?

Colleges don't see what tests we took until the middle/end of summer. We're already enrolled and everything then. Also, I thought AP tests were only factors in college credit, not admissions.
The UC app asks students to report what AP tests they plan on taking. I don't know if that's what you meant by "specifically." Even so, it feels more of a "plan" thing than a binding promise. Besides, most people aren't taking all of the AP tests they reported.
So how come you think it won't be okay?

I never said that it wouldn't be okay. However, if you change your plans, then you should probably consider contacting someone just to err on the side of caution.

The tests are not factored specifically in admissions, but one should always consider their application requirements as binding-- after all, everything can be held that way if the university wished to do so.

Remember, a university can rescind your admission at ANY time. It doesn't matter if you've enrolled...they can take it away.

I'm not saying to worry about it. Just fire off an e-mail and be on the safe side. That's all.

i called UCLA admissions and they said that you DON'T haev to take all your AP tests, that they're only for your benefit, to get credit

In that case, I issue a mea culpa!

In my defense, it's always better to err on the side of caution with any of this stuff and contact the university directly. Nonetheless, I bow to UCLA admissions on this matter (obviously.)

you do NOT have to take the AP test you said you were planning on taking. I didn't take the AP Lit test and I wrote down on my app that I was planning on taking it.
