I have a wristwatch that doubles as a timer. (It's silent). Am I allowed to time myself while taking the SATs?

Yes. (10char)

Just out of curiosity, why would you want to time yourself? I’m assuming that you don’t just mean making sure that you don’t run out of time

Yes, you are allowed, as long as the noise is minimal. To answer jgraider’s question, personally timing helped me greatly. It lets you know how to pace yourself throughout the test, and allows you to allocate your time efficiently. Yes, it does help to making sure the time doesn’t run out, but I think it helps much more. In my case, when I didn’t use the watch timer my SAT scores were 1900s, but with the timer it went above 2000. Just a correlation, but an interesting one.
