Are you conservative or liberal?

but i don't want to be labeled anything except for moderate. Because even if the positions I have are the same the truth is I have VERY different reasons for supporting what I support compared to a lot of people.

i agree with you. moderate is good, because if you label yourself as a conservative, liberals will thenceforward not pay attention to anything you say, and vice versa.

Moderates dont make a difference. During elections, you cant vote a "moderate" leader. You may have different ideologies, but when it comes to choosing a person for office, you MUST choose one from either side. Apparently, those who claim to be "moderate" end up voting for Bush haha.

well i would call it voting for the "lesser of the evil." I can vote for either Republican or Democratic depending on the candidate, and I would call myself a "swing individual" which I think is just better than solidly Republican or solidly Democratic.
Also I know that liberals don't usually listen to conservatives while the conservatives don't either. I think there needs to be a moderate to communicate between them.

i identify better with the Republican ideology, but i vote based on the individual, not the party. hence i voted for Kerry.

"I would call myself a "swing individual" which I think is just better than solidly Republican or solidly Democratic."

You can call it whatever you want, but true moderates never win :)

Gotta go with this one. I took several of those poli. spectrum tests and kept getting centrist.

Centrist:1
Conservative:6
Moderate: 7
Libertarian:5
Liberal: 15
Libertarian Socialist: 2

true moderates never win primaries, you mean.

moderates make great unifying leaders, however.

Anonymous, name me one god moderate leader. (McCain is conservative).

ur more of a practical politician type. I don't care about winning I just want something that is ideal or close to ideal at least for me.

How about we make Moderate a new political party or something, haha
I keep seeing more and more of my peers being right in the middle.

Abraham Lincoln would be considered moderate by todays standards.

I'm actually not sure of McCain's stance on the issues. I just like that he's a straight shooter, and uses good logic.

oh and Chun- those parties already exist. they just are powerless because they lack the brand-name recognition.

Gotcha (pointless text to make sure my message is more than 10 characters)

^Haha

:) (I usually just go with two "Enter"s and a smilie face

:)

a lot of liberals here... yet they failed to capture the presidency and congress

"a lot of liberals here... yet they failed to capture the presidency and congress"

Like the old saying goes - "People get what they deserve" :)

A-san:

Based on your uninformed comments on Noam Chomsky, I don't think it was necessary to explicitly state that you're conservative. I consider him an extremist because he calls himself "a sympathizer with anarchism" (or something like that), not because he's a holocaust denier or he hates Jews, as you falsely assert. He just opposes the state terrorism of Israel.

well, my question is............how do i know?

Definately a Liberal. I can't stand Bush's enviornmental policies-screw the enviornment and global warming. I don't like the Conservative pro-life stance (I'm pro-choice), and I believe in gay marriage. Like Whoppi Goldberg said, "If you don't want gays to marry, don't marry em". :)

I'm pro abortion and pro death penalty. What does that make me?
