I hadn’t really though much about prom until some girls started talking to me about it. I was like “Uhhh ummm yah I’m going.” I was really caught off guard on how time moved so fast!! It’s almost April.

Hmmm when should I ask someone to prom? I don’t want to be too early (creeper-ish) or too late (lazybum-ish). My prom is in June.

@batfan, no we don’t know our theme yet either; even though our prom is in May.

@aStyle, it comes up so much faster than you think. A few weeks ago I was convinced it wasn’t for ages, and then my date’s best friend basically yelled at me to get a move on and ask her before she was forced to ask me :)

^ Yeah that’s what happened to me. This girl was yelling at me to ask her friend to prom. She claimed that I was sending mixed signals. I was like “What?? I’m not sending out any signals! Where did this come from?!”

Now I feel so pressured. Time moved so fast. No time to prepare.

My date and I hadn’t talked that much before he asked me (I actually hinted to one of his friends that I wanted to go with my date because I knew he was a really sweet yet shy guy ) so now we’re just hanging out. We’re in the awkward get-to-know-you stage but we’ll see where this goes I kind of wish I had talked to him before senior year :(

@astyle it did go by fast!!! At first I wasn’t going because I didn;t know who to take but now I have a boyfriend…but I still dont want to go. But my prom is in May and a lot of people got asked already. but in my opinion I would wait till mid April…early May? Hopefully the person you want to ask isn’t taken by then.

@astyle, you have to admit. It was a bit of a relief when that happened to you though, am I right? Like almost a “phew, won’t have to face rejection/going without a date”

Ugh, at this point, I don’t even want to go! My school starts selling tickets in about two weeks, and I’ve yet to find a dress or a date (with the latter not looking good AT ALL). But it IS my senior year, and because I told the guy I’m interested in (with whom I cannot go) that I probably don’t want to go, he told my best friend, and I am now being FORCED to go >.< I really don’t want to go, wompwomp. They’re selling tickets way too early at my school this year. A month and 3 weeks before prom. It’s such a fail. People are going to break up or find other dates at that point!

I’m going but I’m sure it’s going to be an awkward fest for all of us who don’t want to join the sweaty mess of the pregnancy dances.
as for a date… half the school has told me that my best friend since grade school has said he wants to ask me.
I wish he’d get a move on it… i love the kid to death.
my school is so lame… we’re having it in our cafeteria. I’d rather have it in the tent outside like last year tbh.

I didn’t go to prom junior year and I’m unsure if I’ll go this year, but since it’s just around the corner I’m probably going to end up not going
The idea of getting a dress, attempting to look pretty, etc just depresses me.

I feel like now if I were to go I’d be disappointed on various levels

Girls like it but girls have to remember that guys hate it and dont want to be there so nomater how happy you are they dont like wearing a suit to go to a dance. Then the girls wear high heels and cant walk in them so they take them off and dance in bare feet. The whole thing is silly and a waste of money, especially the corsach. Yay flowers for on your arm! Isnt that great?
I would say get a limo and dont buy a dress or suit and dont get the prom tickets and have the limo driver take you to New York City or somewhere better then school and go to a restrant. You can even sleep in the limo. Its like a hotel room on wheels.
