I don't know if I should go or not. Anyone else with the same problem?

GO. if you didn't go you'll always think of what it would have been like if you had went

I'm going, but only because my parents bought me an expensive dress and it would be a waste not to.

I didn't go and I don't regret it.

I didnt go and i dont regret it.

It wont make a difference 10 yrs from now

im going but only because someone asked me. he's not my dream date, but i'm his. he actually came over to my house last night (only because my parents wanted to meet him), soo we went to a movie. it was SOOO awkward because he wants to be in a relationship and i do not. he's kind of dorky and not my type. :/ i will probably hang out with other people too at prom anyways, so im excited. i got my dress today and love it!

force yourself to go....i didn't feel like going but still went and am glad i did because would have hated if i missed out

you may as well go, just in case when your 40 yrs old you dont kill yourself because of some traumatic problems.

Prom is expensive :p
How much are your guys' proms?

dammit i copied someones username, and i find out 1.5 years after joining CC

all said and done, a little more than a grand.

Our prom is free, but preparations...

Anyways, initially ASB planned our prom to be white-tie. Yes, WHITE TIE. Basically people revolted, and so it "just" became black-tie. Caused quite a controversy, with 1/2 the school wanting white tie, 1/2 not. Personally, I don't see why it has to be that formal of an event. And it would just make prom even more expensive.

I mean seriously, who has ever been to a white-tie prom?!?

Hm...if you have to think about this. then don't. No one can force you. And it doesn't sound like you want to....or else you wouldn't have started this thread.

It's not like it's 100% guaranteed that you will regret it 10 years from now. Prom is overrated, hahah

My prom is free, but my parents bought me a $365 dress. It isn't as if I even have a date anything--the only person I'd consider going with lives five states away.

To be fair, it's a classy, elegant dress that can be worn for any number of formal occasions besides prom; if I go to dinner, it'll be <$20 sushi with friends; there will be no limo involved (at my school, that just isn't done). But still.

Our prom was yesterday.

I didn't go. Usually we have a junior-senior prom (I'm a junior) but this year it was senior only because of the location. I still could have went because my boyfriend is a senior, but he didn't really want to go. So we didn't. Costs too much anyway.

Tickets are $75 each, and $15 each for after prom. Plus the dress, tux, etc.

Prom is whack.

Ours was last night. Didnt go. Played poker with my friends instead. Much more fun.

I don't see the need to spend close to $1000 on a girl you will never see again.

I went to my friend's prom as his date last night, and I'm attending my own in three weeks.. Two proms in one month = broke status.

BUT nevertheless it was fun. We got a Cadillac Escalade limo, and the prom location was at a nice hotel in Downtown LA. After prom, the group went to Santa Monica Pier and watched the waves and walked around until 2:15 AM. (:

I think people should give prom a try...

What the difference between a tux and a suit?
