Are you going to attend your HS Prom?

If not, why not?
If yes.....why yes? :p

I am debating whether or not I should go....people in my school are really "tacky"--last year girls wore skin-tight low dresses that showed everything >.< The music was not cool either...it was just loud and ghetto.
If I go, I plan to dress in a 1940s style gown...with a 1940s theme going on.

If I dont go however, a group of my friends and I were planning on planning a limo trip to NYC to see a play or just hang out...go to a fancy restaurant etc etc.
Pathetic? I like the idea.

lol any opinions are welcome.

or do people on here not even care about those things? o_O

Lol. I’m going to my prom, mostly because being on Student Council I planned the whole thing. Plus, it’s gonna be the last big thing the seniors all do together before we go our separate ways.

That being said, my friends who were class of 09 all skipped their prom, and we all went out to dinner on South Beach and then clubbing and had a pretty amazing time.

It just depepnds. If your friends aren’t gonna be at prom, and you don’t seem super enthusiastic about it, there’s no point in going if you aren’t gonna have fun.

Yea…I hardly even get along with the senior class.

Yes. Why wouldn’t I?

Of course. I’m goin hammmm haha. Girls wearing skin-tight dresses is BAD?! I know you’re a girl, but damn the girls at my school were pretty up for that and I definitely can’t complain ;)

If you don’t get along with any of them, you’d might as well take the 90$ for the ticket and have a great time in NYC with your friends.
All of my friends who skipped Prom have no regrets about doing so.

Can someone explain to me the fun in going to a dance/the prom? :S

As of now, no, but Prom is a long way away.

@howdypal: the 2nd option definitely.

No, I hate dances.

My friends are going to try to make me go.

yes, i plan to attend prom. why? for the experience i guess.

i can go to nyu and do all that other stuff any other day but there’s only one prom day.

Hells yeah.

I’ll be with my BFFLs (less than three!!!)

After-prom is gonna be kickass… An official after-prom, then an unofficial after-prom (;)), then Cedar point.

It’s gonna be relatively cheap, since our class does a lot of fundraisers

I like feeling like a princess, even if it’s for one day.

^^ Way to kill the thread with your useless existence.

gonna get my grind on!
lol jk.
I’m going mostly for the experience. I don’t dance.

^Yeah, most of my friends don’t either, so I’m gonna be alone on the dance floor lol.
The rents that occur after prom are the best part of the day anyway.

Yes. I don’t understand why people don’t want to go.

Do what you like. No need to please us.

$150 ticket per person… tempting. /sarcasm

I’m actually in the prom-planning committee, but there’s no way in hell imma pay for that or go dateless

Of course I am. Then again, prom is a massive ordeal at my school. The dance itself is just one (minor) part of the overall prom experience.

I’m debating, not because I’m anti-social. I just don’t know who to go with, I don’t like anyone in my school enough to go. And I refuse to go alone. I might go with friends as a group.
