And if you're not, then what's keeping you from it?

Unhappiness

Society, rules

Highschool.

My math homework. :D

It's funny how people pay money to suffer the entire school system and also external exams, and all the pressure that stems from it really hinders your ability to fully open up yourselves to people at times.

no. high school and all of its social and academic pressures

darned second law of thermodynamics...

No. My chronic sense of inadequacy and lack of control.

I'm a senior and the year is coming to an end. This year has been amazing, I really wish I would have got more involved in things like dances earlier.

Well, let's see here...

Good Grades: Check
Awesome Friends: Check
Nice Job: Check
Great Car: Check
Lots of Volunteer Work: Check
Church Involvement: Check
Athletic Performance: Check
Girlfriend: Um...

What keeps me from this final piece is that I can't find anyone worth dating. Basically, at my school, I am looking for a Mercedes-Benz on the Kia lot.

^ call me a pessimist, but why do you NEED a girlfriend?
Like, why do you need to "look" for one? I mean, shouldn't things that should happen just happen instead of one looking for a girlfriend as if looking for an object?

Well, I'm not even looking anymore. Gave up this past semester. But the reason I feel incomplete without one is because I've spent the past several Valentine's Days alone wearing black eating TV dinners.

Yeah, there's two more important reasons.

I'm an only child and the only one who can keep the family going so I need to find someone eventually.

My friends all think I'm crazy for staying single this long.

I don't really care that much unless the date is 2/14 in which case I diss the flowers, stupid teddy bears, and expensive dinners endlessly.

i've found that it's kind of like the moment you genuinely stop looking and are really happy with who you are/where you are in life, you meet someone. and as to your #1, it's unlikely that you'll meet your life partner in HS (happens, but not to the vast majority, i don't think).

i think the best measure of happiness, beyond the grades-friends-job-etc, is the amazing water fight i had on friday with six of my friends. it's trivial, but that's one of the little things that i think makes life 'full'.

I know what you mean. It's the little moments like that when you're actually LIVING. My friends and I all played with Play-doh, and ran around barefoot in the snow, and played freeze tag in the school at night (the janitors thought that we were nuts =P)

Every once in a while I have insecure moments, or get hung up on stupid school-related things... so maybe I'm not living life to its FULLEST, but my life is pretty full, nonetheless =)

how do you live your life to the fullest?
life is pretty damn full no matter what you're doing

i'm just happy to be part of this badass thing we call humanity i guess

Academic pressure and stress, mainly.

haha I'm with ProcrastiNate. Nice way of putting it.

I care too much about what people think to anything really fun.

High school and college-preparedness are atressful.
