Are you not supposed to like college/school?

I keep hearing people saying "I can't wait until summer" or "I can't wait until I'm done with all my classes." Does this mean that people genuinely don't like college? If college is supposed to be a time of studying something you enjoy, why would you be looking forward to its end?

People generally don’t like the stress associated with work, especially when they are in the final stretch.

Honestly, I think the few weeks where I don’t have any work or responsibilities are great, but overall, I’d much rather be in school than in an office somewhere.

i generally love to go to class during the first 8 weeks maybe, after that…i can’t stand anything in relation to it and can’t wait for new classes…I dont know what i am going to do when i have to get a job and go there everyday for years. xD

if i could take summer classes yearlong it would be great because i dont have to stay in one place to long.

I like it fine enough (more than I will real life I suppose) but the last couple of weeks are terrible (presentations, papers, finals) that its nice to finally get away from it all and have a big long break. But then towards the end of summer you hope for college to start again… :P

People are usually sad around the time finals end and move-out day. We only say that because the work part sucks. Generally, in the summer, people are like “I can’t wait to get back to campus”. It’s a vicious cycle lol.

no, it’s the time of your life

finals suck, though. so when summer comes, you’re ready for a break :)

I agree with randomgrandeur: right before finals week it’s “I can’t wait for summer,” and then halfway through summer it’s “I can’t wait to go back to school.”

I feel like that two weeks into summer…

^Yeah, def. I decided to stay home the entire summer after Freshman year. It was the worst idea ever. After that, i just made sure I had some sort of job and/or classes to take so I wouldn’t have to be home. It’s tough going from living in the dorms to living at home. It’s like subjecting yourself to a voluntary jail sentence. Not cool!

August: I can’t wait for school!
December: ■■■, winter break, PLEASE.
Mid-January:I’m bored, I want school.
April:Oh, god, I need summer vacation.
July:FUUUUUUUUUUU, living at home sucks.

Repeat.

Lol I experienced this too. Why does it happen?

what do you mean, “supposed to”
enjoy college if you want
be miserable if you want
it’s your choice :p

Who said you’re not supposed to? Some do, some don’t.
