Are you serious?UCSD TAG is this really happening?

because santa cruz, santa barbara and irvine have horrible weather…

^i was gonna say the same thing

i’ve been watching laguna beach lately, ■■■■■ and they always had good weather.

I hate to disappoint you (and hijack this thread), but SDSU has a 28% acceptance rate and it’s mostly down because of budget cuts that affect State universities more than any other ones. The author of that article used the enrollment rates (as in people who have accepted the admission offer instead of just people who got accepted)

The acceptance rate doesn’t matter to me, if I was wrong then I was wrong.

You can’t go wrong with any UC in Socal in terms of weather.

BredanR anybody can get into SDSU. The only thing you need is a heart beat and a semi-working brain. I was reject from CAL/UCSD/UCLA in high school with a 3.9 GPA! but oh well, I have a 3.8 GPA now and with that I know i at least secured UCSD. I’m Applying to CAL and UCLA as history major so it shouldn’t be that bad. And yes, I turned down UCI and UCR because I knew I could do better. Although I hate it when my firends from HS ask if I went to UCI and I say no and then the sigh comes in. Good luck to everyone who’s apply this year.

why do they sigh when you say you didnt go to UCI?

@UCkitty because most of them are at UCSD, CAL or UCLA. It kinda gay when you don’t get into the top three UC’s. My gpa and sat weren’t that bad, 3.9 GPA 1910 SAT. I didn’t go to UCI because i knew I could go to a JC and get to my dream school which was UCLA. I mean, I would have loved to attend UCSD and CAL, but when they rejected me it all went down hill. And my parents!! lol they were wishing I would be just like my bro/sis. brother attends UCLA and graduated as Bio major, and sis is at CAL poli-sci major. I really would be happy if i get into to UCLA, CAL, UCSD my three top school. Making the decision would be really tough tho.

what does your bro do with that bio major and your sister graduated already? im poly sci major too, but applying to uci/ucd this year ■■■■■, feelin a bit insulted.

I know plenty of CCC transfers who got turned down to SDSU with 3.5’s. You people have serious complexes when it comes to your college. The UC’s are better everyone knows this but stop acting like UCLA/UCB/UCSD/UCI are the Ivy League and SDSU is some JUCO.

My friend went to SDSU and majored in Recreation Administration lol

Somewhat unrelated but, most of my CC friends who had ~4.0, TAG/TAP, tons of ECs, well rounded students were rejected by all the CSUs they applied to but accepted to Cal/UCLA/other UCs/one to Stanford/one to CalTech. I’ve heard that, according to their stats, the CSUs know that the person will probably not choose to go there anyway, so they don’t bother admitting them.

Also, the non-UC state schools have a much different pool of applicants than the UCs. 28% of whatever you were saying can’t really be compared to UC rates anyway.

He could have studied Folklore at UCB, that seems like a very challenging major.

Lol did you google Cal graduate programs just to come up with that? That’s chill though, it’s probably an awesome experience for your MA.

Why are you so defensive? I stated a fact and you feel the need to purposely retaliate with a comment about the school I go to. Lame. If you were really happy with SDSU, you probably wouldn’t feel the need to defend it or criticize other schools.

I wasn’t the one who brought up SDSU, I never criticized the UC’s, you people seem to be the ones being defensive and criticizing SDSU.

Even though you didn’t bring it up (like you’ve said twice)…

provoke = “What UC do you go to? Oh wait you don’t.”

when you don’t either?

Anyway, the CSU/SU vs UC thing is overdone. Moving on.

do you even want to go to a UC?

UCKitty had University Of California as their location but I have seen multiple threads where he/she makes it clear that they are hoping to attending a UC, that is when they brought up that I am “only” going to SDSU.

I found CC when looking into going to UCR or SDSU, I also found the UC area informative since I have several friends attending CCC’s and planning on transferring to UC’s. We are former military and none us really understood how competitive it is to attend a four year school in California.
