LMAO! I love when people think there are "Catholics and Christians." And a big LOL to all protestants who keep putting "Christian-other" on Myspace because they don't know what protestant means!

I think it has something to do with the fact that most people on CC are very intelligent and motivated kids, and people who are more intelligent are more likely to question something they've been taught all their lives. I may be wrong, but it's just an observation.

I'm sorry, but I'm sure everyone gets tired of these people who are atheist because it's in vogue. It's not "cool" that your "religion" is based on "science." The way I see it, everything had to come from something or somewhere... and this original thing was either intelligent or non-intelligent... pick a side, neither is more intelligent (excuse the pun) than the other.

My parents were both raised Jain and, as far as I know, both remain Jain, especially my mom. I consider myself Jain, but I also like Theravada Buddhism (that's the type from South and Southeast Asia), because it avoids the concept of the soul.

See number 2. ;) Lol just saw this website for the first time today; it's hilarious! Just... the concept... ahaha!

"My parents are Russian Orthodox, as am I (It's Christian) But my stepdad is Jewish, and now my little sister will also be raised as Jewish.

It's all very very confusing. I do prefer the Catholic church much more than the RO church, because there the services are about 5 hours and you have to stand the entire time. Also women need to wear head coverings."

Wow, that's rough....

But a scenario similar to your RO church is exactly why I'm an agnostic and feminist :)

yep all of us are agnostic.

well, my mom was raised catholic and my dad was raised jewish, but they never believed it and stopped going through the motions when they left home. biigg scandal with my dad's family when they got together.

actually, i really like the buddhist way of thinking, but my family doesn't know that. they'd be fine with it, i just haven't gotten around to telling them.

i even have an aum tattoo because the whole concept is just breathtaking for me.

my parents: strictly Hindu

myself: loosely Hindu and agnostic.

My dad is Episcopalian and my mom is Jewish, so I'm Jewish (conservative).

Parents: Christian
Me: Christian (nondenominational)

My parents were Catholic (now deceased), my brother and I were raised Catholic, we both have gone to church every week, as do my husband and son. It is part of my identity. God is very real to me and a part of my daily life.

My parents are converted Christians
I remain a Christian, even though I'm not as much of a Christian as I'd like to be.

God and the church has really made a positive impact on my life.
