There are so many posts (especially in the Cafe) about God and Religion that I was curious... how many of you are the same / different religion than your parents?

My dad was born Jewish, raised Jewish and Catholic, but is now a diest I guess.
My mom was raised Pagan (her mom was a "witch") with some gypsy-Christian religion mixed in. She is now agnostic.

I was raised Catholic because I went to a Catholic school but I am now Wiccan.

My dad was raised Catholic -- Catholic school for twelve years and everything -- and now doesn't really care about religion. I guess he's still Catholic, but apathetic.

My mom was raised Jewish and still participates in the holidays and stuff, but it's about the culture and not the religion for her. AFAIK, her beliefs are "there's something out there but it's not the traditional God."

They decided to raise us without religion... like, we celebrate the holidays with family (Christmas with my dad's all-out Catholic side, Hanukkah with my mom's family when we have the chance), but we've never actually participated in religious events. I've only been to Church and Synagogue with friends, hahah.

At first, I was all-out agnostic; now I'm, for all intents and purposes, atheist. My religion is the laws of physics. :)

Most of my family are stereotypical Catholics, but I, a bisexual liberal, am far from it. I don't even know what I am. Religion is for the old, not people who what to live life ot the fullest.

My mom was raised Mormon, although she no longer goes.

My dad...well I'm honestly not sure. I think he was raised (while he was with his foster parents) in a non-denomentational Christian house, but he never went to church. The first time I saw him in a church was his funeral...wow that sounds odd.

I'm Mormon. I went with my grandparens when I was younger and continue to go to this day (although my grandparents live on the other side of the country from me.)

Lmao @ the bisexual comment. They are people too, who just happen to like both genders.

My parents are catholics, but I'm an atheist, homosexual, and they don't like it. But I have two words for them, that in respect, I never say directly to them lol.

lol mormon missionaries are really cute
with their bicycles

You know, even as a Mormon I can't help but laugh when I see the missionaries rding their bbikes in slacks and a whte shirt. It's just funny to me.

I think alot of people have catholic parents, but don't know how many are actually Catholic. That's like myself, I have catholic parents but am an atheist :)

My parents were both more religious when they were younger, and I guess you could call them Catholics, but I've only seen them go to church a couple times in my lifetime. We're all pretty much all agnostic.

^ Nope. Religion isn't a big thing in my family. The only time it gets a little awkward is when we go to family reunions with my large Irish Catholic family and the nuns and priests ask us why we don't go to church...
