So far, i could have gotten a better grade in one class. I just settled for the B b/c quite honestly to get the A, i needed to read huge books and there is a good chance i wouldn't even get the A.

this semester, i could get all A, but i do not think i am working as hard as could.

well-- i'm working hard, but not as hard as i should be. i got a 99% on my first history exam.. kind of a curse... now i have a test for the same class in about and hour and i'm not even studying....i wish i was motivated! i hate that sorry excuse for a college. i'm looking at 4 a's and 1 b... give or take an A. but our gpa's dont transfer so whats the point?

CC prison, most of the time it's dificult to find motivation. I usually have to find ways pick myself up from being down about how life turned out for me after HS. lets just say it's not how i planned when i spent hours and tons of money studying for the SAT and AP exams.

Finshing the semester well will be a challenge for me.

Not trying to be offensive, but I'm quite sure that you rubbing in your high marks for this semester is in rather ill fashion. It really didn't even answer the question that was being asked to be honest, for all we know, you could want 100% in class and may not be working your hardest, as THAT was the question asked. No one cares about all the details.

Maybe I am wrong, but I don't think many will disagree with my opionin.

what is wrong with having high grades? and btw, this board is for sharing, whether low or high grades, stats, scores, fav food or what have you...also, grades tend to be a reflection of how hard you try...so draw your conculsion :)

that is unless you have a crappy professor..because apparently then it doesn't matter how hard you try, you still won't get an A...

did I just say that? Hmm.. Bad Nikki. :-X I'll stop brining up posts from last week now..

Anyway, me..I have 2 A's and 2 B's. I could potentially have a 4.0 this semester, but won't, because no, I'm not working as hard as I can this semester. I have a tendency to do that during the spring semester...I'll be sitting in class, then look out the window..ohhh look a butterfly! ADHDADHDADDADHDADADADAD..

Thank you mex. My intentions were not to offend someone, or "rub it in"...I just share all my info with people on this board, I answer questions, offer advice, and most of the time seek advice because I am insecure at times despite all my achievemnts. Noodleman, the CC veteran (who re-appeared on the board) can testify to this :) he had known me for more than a year now :D

Am I getting the best grades I can? It's funny really, how in CC (mine, anyway) you don't really have to work extremely hard to get the best possible grade.

There is a huge difference between the person who studies his arse off to get an A and, on the other hand, the person who half-asses it and crams everything in at the last second to get the same grade. As much as I hate to admit it, I'm a part of that dreaded second category, and I think this is why I feel so fake, if you will, whenever I make an A. There's always that feeling that I'm not really as smart as the person next to me who studied his butt off to get the A, and that my A was due only to the fact that I stayed up till two-o-clock in the morning memorizing phylums and species. It's really quite disgusting.

One of these days I'm going to start a thread over this topic. I find it really interesting and I'd like to get some of you all's opinions. Right now, though, I'm in a terrible mood. The smell of my school gets me in a bad mood.

steak, lobster and burgers.!!!--- oh wait-- that post has nothing to do with the thread. you know... for a person that gets rather high marks you dont seem too bright helen. When someone starts a thread that asks you to post your EXACT % in you current classes feel free to chime in. a simple yes or no would have done the job in this case...sorry.

CCinPrison...read the thread name before you insult someone "are you working as hard as you can, getting the best grades u can?" ... All I have been doing was getting the second part done :D

modestman, while I agree with certain things you say, I simply find it distasteful to FLAME everyone with good grade (hey, you have good grades too, so why flame?)

I got by with all As (we don't have the plus/minus system). by getting by, I mean 89.95 percent or merely 90 percent. Because I believe in something called "limited deterrent" (sounds like cold war policy), earning highest grade with minimal grade. It works great until three subjects collided and you start earning Ds. It's hard to pull up from D to A, so I had to work my ass off during the final week. I worked so hard that i caught penumonia (sp?) afterward.

I had major problem with time management last quarter. Hope my human sexuality class this quarter, with its X rated textbook (haha, a side note, it has more juicy content than most free porn sites!), purpose of making one a better lover, will earn me an easier A than engineering physics.

That is a hasty generalization; this is the first instance in which modestman has actually argued against someone.

I took engineering physics already, and my dream school only requires grade of the winter and fall quarter.

So it's a filler class since I finished the entire bio sequence, chemistry sequence, physics sequence (I am still taking enigeering physics this quarter. I promised my sexuality teacher I WILL SCIENTIFCALLY PROVE that the superiority of a certain position by newtonian physics)

also I am taking Honors English and differential equation.
