Area of study for a career in child protection?

Hi everyone
I'm really interested in pursuing a career in child protection (not a social worker). Can I become a lawyer and do this? I would love to work for the Administration for Children and Families. What area of study should I focus on in college? Public policy?

If you want to be a lawyer, major in whatever interests you and would allow you to have the highest GPA possible.

My dad’s a lawyer and he has been assigned as Guardian Ad Litem before to many children, so yes, it is possible. He majored in history in college with a minor in education and got a Master’s in Political Science. But like I said, it doesn’t matter what you major in. Just go with what is most interesting and will give you the highest GPA possible.
