Arizona State Class of 2025

Yeah, I just did that. I emailed the representative assigned for US citizens abroad, so hopefully I’ll hear back soon! The US citizen, intl applicant thing has been a ride from the get go, I can say that. Confused a lot of colleges :joy:

Good luck!

I can imagine it’s been a ride. Colleges have procedural boxes for US students from US schools and boxes for international students from international schools, but US students from international schools probably not so much.

Hey guys. I ended up mailing my respective admission officer and found that I qualified for the new American univeristy presidential award for 15K per year OOS! If anyone believe these qualify for merit aid, do email your admissions officer ! Lovely news and long awaited haha

Hi @Moonlightmom - my DS is a junior CS major and in Barrett. Let me know if you have any questions.

My experience with 2 students at ASU is that the FA office and Barrett staff are very helpful and easy to work with.

DS1 - graduated in '18 from Barrett with a BS in Chemistry and a minor in Business

DS2 - should get BS in CS in Dec '21, also in Barrett. He has been accepted into the 4+1 program, so he will have his MS by Dec '22. He was awarded a DAAD/RISE research internship in Germany (cancelled due to COVID). This summer will be interning at Garmin in Chandler, AZ.

Feel free to ask me any questions.

My son got in cs, international. Received merit aid.
How was ur sons experience there.

We are torn between UMN twin cities and AsU tempe.

Thank you.

My DS is on track to graduate a semester early. His scholarship will pay for his first semester of graduate school. We have seen a strong presence of recruiting for internships and jobs through the Fulton School. The “Price Corridor” has a number of strong tech companies or positions (intel, honeywell, Wells Fargo IT).

Overall, my son is very happy with his education and potential for employment.

Hi! My son has been accepted at ASU Barrett and he is 98% sure he will pick Barrett. We live in MN and he was also accepted there. UMN is a good school, certain areas better than others. I would say both schools are great in STEM fields. We are excited about the philosophy behind how ASU is run. It is innovative, it is inclusive, and it is an R1. I’m so excited for him. Going to Tempe in a couple of weeks. And yes, looking forward to the sun.

Thank you so much for this feedback.Didn’t know about this ‘price corridor’.
This should be good for internship opportunities.
How is the campus in general, and the Fulton’s school.
Thank you.

This feedback means a lot coming from UMN resident. Yes, weather was our biggest concern.

But ur response put my mind@ease.
Thank you.

The Fulton School has their own dorm - Tooker House. There is also the opportunity to be in Barrett Honors College.

My son likes the environment. COVID has been rough, but non-COVID, he is very happy. We are very pleased with the environment and the education.

Thank you.
Can he still get into Barrett’S honors? Or did he miss the deadline?

Late Consideration II’s application deadline is Sunday, April 4, 2021

As stated above - there is still time (unless this year’s class is full). I would suggest contacting Barrett’s admission advisors. There will be a link on the page cited by NJEngineerDad. If they are full this year, my strategy would be to apply to Tooker House - all Engineering students, then apply to Barrett next year. Hope that helps.

Thank you.

Thank you.!

I got admitted to ASU a while back but missed the priority deadline for honors and thought I couldnt apply after that. Just saw I could now and since I’m considering it seriously, I applied now and the notification date says May 16th. Do they release it exactly on the day or is there a chance to hear back earlier?

It used to be a rolling release. I am not sure if that is still the case. I suggest calling the Barrett admissions office (or email them) and ask for clarification. They are really nice. My oldest used to work in the office as an assistant.
