Armchair General

This may seem a little random, but is anyone familiar with a magazine called "Armchair General". I recently picked up one at an airport and was really impressed with its emphasis on military strategy, leadership, and techniques. I don't necessarily have a question about it, but I thought it would be good to make everyone aware that it's out there.

Never seen it, is it new? Sounds kind of interesting...

I think that it's a very limited publication, nothing on the scale of TIME or NEWSWEEK. I put a link to their site at the bottom. One of their features that I really liked was the scenarios they give, then have the reader formulate their own strategy. It's really a nice piece of work.

I've been subscribed to Armchair General for about a year and a half now , its come in quite handy on several research papers I've done as a periodical source. Its a really awesome magazine, all the information is very current and straightforward, they usually hit on every major conflict instead of just allways focusing on civil war or world war 2, they have a whole section dedicated just to leadership and they discuss a different quality of it each issue, and they do the same thing for the principles of war. They have very nice AAR's to study over and like envee said they come out with several alternitive history scenarios where they give you the background behind a specific event and you act as the commander and write a complete battle report willl all your orders and send it in, they usually give away pretty nice prizes to 10 of the best CO's. Just wish it came out for than 6 times a year.

Alright I'm done lol, its an awesome magazine and their website is just as good
