**Preparation for the Major

Required: Art 1A, 1B, 11A, 11B, 11D, 11E, 31A, 31B, 31C, and one course from Art History 50, 51, 54, 55A, 55B, 56A, 56B, 57.**

The Major

Required: A minimum of nine upper division courses, including Art 100 or 132 or one course from an approved list of upper division nonmajor courses, 150, six courses from at least four of the following studio areas: 130, 133, 137, 140, 145, 147, 148, one course from Art History 101A through C119C or C140A through C180C, and 15 units of art electives.

By the end of this year my roommate will have completed the modernism sequence, 3 studio classes, and GEs and writing requirements. I hope that helps. You will most likely take a studio class every quarter. It's very difficult to take 2 studios classes in the same quarter because of the amount of class time you have and then the additional hours outside of class.

thanks emmeline!
and what classes do/can we take freshman year?
or can we take all the ge classes first to get rid of them?

You shouldn't take all of your GEs to get rid of them because you might end up with two studio classes in a quarter down the road. One studio class is time-consuming and exhausting enough.
