Here’s the scoop! I graduated fairly recently from a small liberal arts school with a BA in geology and have strong interests in pursuing a career in illustration. My initial plan was to dedicate my free time to refining a portfolio while working and eventually applying to an MFA program. However, as I look at different curricula, I feel I could gain a lot from foundations and techniques taught in BFA programs. Really, I’m lost and I’m not sure what is going to be the most advantageous (and economical) route. Anyone else taken this kind of non-traditional path into illustration? Any advice?
Going off of that, I have also recently applied to the Pratt AOS program in Illustration. I talked with the Dept. Chair who was incredibly accessible and I really liked the program set up…but that’s all the information I could really find on it. If anyone knows more about this program/its quality/associate degrees in Illustration/anything I would really appreciate it. It’s Pratt, but the mystery of this program is making me incredibly nervous.
