art requirement

I am wondering if they won't consider my application because I don't meet the fine arts requirement. Does the "eligibility by examination alone" thing apply to course requirements?
It did not specify on the website.

It would suck if I got rejected just because I'm missing a full year of art lol.

My understanding is that the a-g requirements must all be met to be eligible for any UC, including Berkeley. Perhaps there is a way of getting an exemption, but I’m not familiar with how this would be done and how frequently (if at all) these are distributed. I’m not sure what you mean exactly by “eligibility by examination alone,” but if you’ve passed a relevant AP or IB exam (say, Art History), even without taking the corresponding class, that should be enough to fulfill the requirement. In case it helps, take a look at this: [University of California - Visual & performing arts (“f”)](http://www.ucop.edu/agguide/a-g-requirements/f-visual-performing-arts/index.html)

If you are out of state they are more willing to accept it if you have not fulfilled the A-G requirements. My school does not offer arts courses and when i asked them about that they said it is alright if I told them on my application. In the end I decided to take an Art History course at a local community college so that there was no way they would look down on my application. The eligibility by examination alone will definitely allow you to be considered for admission but not having an arts course, especially if your school offered one, may hurt your overall chances.

Alright thanks!
