Applying without Arts Class

I'm interested in applying to UCB, but I haven't taken any fine/performing arts classes because I personally have little interest and my schedule is full with other classes. On the UC requirements, it says that an arts class is needed for admission, but if I'm a competitive applicant, will my app still be considered fully? I'm out of state but have very good stats and decent EC's.

If you’re OOS the A-G requirements are not strictly enforced, because every state has different curriculum. You should be fine.

Actually a-g requirements are strictly enforced for domestic applicants (US applicants). Berkeley specifically indicates that applicants are screened for eligibility requirements, so missing the VPA requirement will render you ineligible for admission consideration.

You may satisfy the requirement with AP History of Art or AP Music Theory;while these are not a true VPA courses, they are sufficient for the purpose. Alternatively you may skip the courses and pass the following exams to satisfy the requirement:

Score of 3, 4 or 5 on the AP History of Art, Studio Art or Music Theory Exam;
score of 5, 6 or 7 on any one IB HL exam in Dance, Film, Music, Theatre Arts or Visual Arts
