I was hoping to take ArtHum in my 1st semester, but unsurprisingly all the sections are full. Is there any way I can still get in one of those classes? like bringing the add/drop forms to the professors?

It’s hard. If you want to get into any desirable class that fills up quickly, make friends with some athletes (the older the better). They get the earliest registration times so they can usually hold a spot in a class for you.

If I ask a prof during the first class, what are the chances that he/she will let me join? I really want to take art hum to set groundwork for my minor.

Probably low since this is a core class and not a lecture class. But it’s worth a try.

Supposedly if you’re planning on studying Art History you can make that argument to get into the class in your first year. I’m not sure who you’re supposed to make the argument to (the registrar? the Core? the professor?), though.

Also, you can search the word “masterpiece” during your registration period and refresh til a section of Art Hum or Music Hum opens that fits into your schedule. That’s how I got Music Hum as a sophomore, honestly.
