lit hum schedule?

In my schedule, i have been signed up for HUMA W1123 and HUMA C1001... are these the same course?

HUMA W1123 is Music Humanities

oh… i thought that class wasn’t assigned, just something you had to complete before you graduate…
it’s not required to be taken freshman year right? can i cancel it during registration and take it a different time?

Yes, but you’re rather lucky. It’s pretty hard for freshmen to get into art/music hum. If I were you, I’d keep it until the instructor’s name is posted and then look him/her up on CULPA. Then I’d decide whether to drop or not (unless your section conflicts with another class you want to take). I mean, you’ll have to take it eventually, so you might as well get it out of the way when you have the chance. It’s pretty easy.

i was actually hoping to test out of it, but I will do what you say too. Thanks!!!

another question… are freshman allowed to take courses numbered in the 3000/4000s?

Freshmen are allowed to register for the higher-level lectures, but seminars often need instructor’s permission. Professors often give preference to upperclassmen in seminars, but some might allow freshmen into their classes.
