Is there a way to attach newspaper articles on you in comm App? Is it a good idea to send articles? How many articles you can upload?

There is no way to upload an article to your main common app. A few school supps do offer the ability to upload a small pdf, but most of these are designed for school specific essays, not supplemental materials.

Are the articles available online? If so, you could include a link or two in the Additional Information section of the common app with a few explanatory words.

In that case, can you create a facebook page or webpage upload all news clip videos, newspaper articles and send the link?

can someone help?

Maybe we weren’t clear in our earlier replies? The answers to your specific questions have already been given. NO, you cannot attach or upload articles into the common app. MAYBE, it could help your application to provide access to articles depending on their content.

Because you can’t upload them, the only ways to provide access are (1) hyperlink in your app, or (2) send them directly to the school by mail or email. Including a hyperlink or two is just fine and we have given you thoughts on how to do that. On the other hand, don’t send anything supplemental like this directly to the school unless you first talkto the adcom directly and he/she encourages you to send it.

And, yes, you can create a webpage where you post all your articles, etc. Then post the link in the “additional info” section.

I’m wondering what all these newspaper articles are, though. Are they articles that you wrote, or are they articles about your various accomplishments - such as winning this or that tournament?

If it’s the latter (articles about you), I’d discourage you from doing this. Your grandmother might enjoy reading them, but the admissions officers won’t. Really, unless you did something really extraordinary (“collegebound1111 saves child from runaway train”), news articles are NOT going to help your case!

Newspaper Articles are about being regional champion and competing at the national level. Receiving awards from Senator etc

No. No! No!

Send them to your relatives - do not send (or post) them for the admissions officers! Mention the awards in the appropriate section of the common app. If possible, group them together so that they fit in the few spaces provided. If that’s really not possible, then post them in the “additional info” section. But do not waste the adcoms’ time with newspaper stories about your awards!

All those things will be listed in your awards or EC section, so articles are not necessary and would be redundant. You don’t need to hammer your point over and over. The GC may already be mentioning some.
