Hi guys.

I am a newspaper columnist and want to submit few of my newspaper and magazine writings (soft copy) to colleges so it can be added to my application. What are the possible methods I can employ?

Slideroom is suitable for music and videos and PDF, but is it free?

are there any other ways I can submit my writings online? Except emailing the admissions?

I’d suggest posting them in a single location online - ideally, a webpage with nothing on it other than these articles - and then providing the URL in the Common App’s “additional info” section. Write one short sentence stating that your collected writings are available at this URL, and leave it at that. If they want to go and read them, they can.

okay, any more options?

The url option is a good one. The link will be “live” in the pdf version of your app that will be read by schools.

What other options do you want? Making the articles accessible to the admissions officer online, and providing a link, gives the AO the option of looking at the articles without putting them in his or her face.

I’m guessing that you would prefer some way of shoehorning the articles into the application itself . . . but the problem with that is that, unless a college specifically requests such a supplement, they’re not supposed to be there! And cluttering up the application with stuff beyond what was requested is not going to make you any friends.

I am just trying to gather all my option. Online link is good. I will go with that. Thanks!
