So, what's your artistic talent, such as poetry, writing, scultping, painting, drawing, singing, et al?

And would you care to share some of your work?

I think artists are a little underappreciated on CC.

Indeed, those math and science nerds get all the recognition. ;D

I'm a visual artist and a musician (sorta). My art's at either morwilwarin.deviantart.com or www.yanran.us/gallery. I'm a big fan of dry media, though I like watercolors, too. I'm not really familiar with oils, acrylics, sculpting, etc...but I draw okay. My photography's something I like to experiment with, hehe.

As for the musician part, I've played violin for about 8 or 9 years now. Quit school orchestra in 8th grade, because I wasn't passionate about it. Now that I play for myself and play what I want (yes, I can play Metallica on the violin!), I think I've become a better, more emotive violin player. I just started electric guitar two months ago, been trying to teach myself, but I've gotten lazy...

And you?

I consider myself mildly artistic. I'm taking AP Studio (no way I'm getting enough done to submit a portfoliio) and it's been a lot of fun. Currently I'm doing a set of photography and abstractions of photography (cutups) of lightbulbs to symbolize ideas or something. I don't know.

nobodynew.deviantart.com for some old photography...my non-photography art is currently all at school. Music-wise, I've been playing piano for 10 years (weekly sessions), and guitar for 4 (self-taught). Writing-wise, I used to have a website with a bunch of writing samples, but my school switched servers and it got taken down. But I love to write both poetry and prose...it's cathartic, no it's more than that, it's a compulsion sometimes.

I'm a photographer mixed with a bit of poetry. Poetry is more like something I do completely for myself and which I have no training in whatsoever. Photography is something I'm very passionate about, though I've only had one class in it. I'm hoping I can pursue some classes in it in college, since I'm limited in every aspect. I'm submitting a college of photos for one of my "essays" actually. I have some stuff on a site :) I don't really like other forms of art (mostly because I'm not good at them)

black and white photography

drawing/painting

creative writing

digital art/webdesign

I'd say I'm pretty artistic... in addition to being a science (chem/bio) nerd :)

ETA: I don't have anything online, unfortunately, but I've been planning to put together a portfolio.

I'm a writer. But I don't do nearly enough writing to deserve that title.

^Same with me, really. Most of my writing is for school these days.

^ditto again! It's hard stuff with school going on!

My IB English teacher this year actually gives creative assignments sometimes. That's basically what keeps my writing skills from atrophying completely...

I am a visual artist. I draw a lot of things, mostly people from magazines. My technique kind of sucks, but I'm working on that.

I'm also learning how to paint with acrylics. I enjoy it, but it's really hard mixing and getting the right colors.

I do some writing, but they all really suck.

My photos suck. Does anyone else have the problem (in any type of art) where you envision this great masterpeice in your head, but it never comes out that way? I can never get things as great as my mind makes them

ls47xx: I love acrylics. They're a lot of fun.

celebrian: All the time.

my mom is an artist so i grew up with the whole visual arts thing; painting, drawing etc. i also do photography some of my photos are on www.expressivefire.deviantart.com
i'm also a dancer, and i'm in the advanced theatre department at my school. and i do musical theatre, so i sing.
i'm also write plays, not so much poetry.

i'm a very...artsy type of gal.:)

celebrian... that's everything I've ever drawn. I think it's because I really don't have that much formal training in well... anything.

I consider myself artistic. I got accepted into three categories at an art school (visual arts, drama, guitar). I was a transfer, and they only accepted a couple of them. I find myself drawing more and more often. I like being able to sit down and just draw. Sometimes I write poetry. Well often I do. I'm in at least one book, maybe two (I don't really remember). When I write music on guitar, it is usually very emo and about breaking up although I am very happy, and I'm still on very good terms with (most) my exes(ex's?). I write very strange short stories that are completely random. Once I had to write a 500 word essay about a composer for my tech class because I was late. I ended up making up someone in the 1600s who was beaten with a spikey plank, and while he was bashing his head into the wall in agony, he discovered the techno beat. This was after he and George Washington lost the American Revolution. I also like to write stories that I know I'm going to adapt to film. My current one is a suicide letter. I wrote it.. then i accidentally left it at my church.. AWKWARD... I love to act as well. Its by far my favorite thing to do. I should be getting an agent here soon haha. I can sing, although I don't often do it in front of people. I play the piano, drums, and trumpet. I'm not that great though... I think I've covered everything...

Yes. I draw paint photo prose and play music

I think during my breaks this year, I'm finally going to get myself into gear and just spend entire days outside taking photos in DC or around my area.

I am artistic with computers, and in particular Photoshop and 3DS Max... not the best drawer, unless you consider wacky cubes and mathematical shapes as drawings... Oh, and I love photography..

ah, the smart people playing music, drawing and writing. I try to do all three, I don't suceed though...

I'm artsy! I'm in the AP studio class at my school, and I also have done a bit of computer graphics stuff. A lot of my old stuff is online (I took down my whole gallery and now I'm reformatting all the pics. I'm starting from the beginning). For my digital stuff: bluefiresage10.deviantart.com
For my traditional stuff: elvenqueen10.deviantart.com
I'm also into film (not online srry) and did computer animation for a year (also not online).
GO ARTSIES!

I actually dropped out of IB Art (and joined IB Biology) because I hated the way the class was taught. The teachers devoted much more attention to the people they thought would do well on the IB exam than to the people who actually had an interest in art. It was very disappointing.
