Arts Supplement Questions!!

Hi, I'm a senior in high school now and seeking to apply to tons of colleges following weeks. For the colleges that I'm applying to, however, my GPA is below average and SAT scores are average. However, I am a great photographer who has won a few national/international awards, so I am seeking to submit my arts supplement. But I have a few questions.

For the colleges which do not use Common App Slideroom, how do I submit my arts supplements? For example, I personally contacted Johns Hopkins University, and they told me that I could submit in any way I want. What would be included in that "any way?"

In my arts supplements, I am only submitting photography because I am not talented in any other arts. For sure, I can say that my pictures are more than competitive. Should I submit them?

In description part in slideroom, what should I say? For example when I entered my pictures in the competitions, I usually used a caption that would be in the yearbook because I am a staff in one of nation's top yearbooks. However, those captions seem pretty short (they are usually less than 1000 characters). Should I say that how I took the pictures and etc.? If not, what should I say?

If anyone could help, it would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Bump?!?!?!

My D is planning to major in fine arts. Each college seems to have different ways to submit, but one college suggested the following ways to submit a portfolio for a scholarship competition:

You could send in a formatted disk – you might check if the school uses Mac’s or PC’s – this school specifically asked for Mac formatting.

You could send in a thumb drive.

You could set up a Tumblr account and send them a link.

As far as the information included for each picture, the schools wanted the dimensions, date, medium (maybe the kind of camera used for photography?), why the art piece was done (to fulfill a class requirement, some other reason?). I don’t think they want long explanations – they just want to know the background.

I hope that helps.
