I sent my William and Mary application out yesterday :). However, on W&M's common app there doesnt seem to be an arts supplement option, but when i went on the website it said that there was indeed a way to submit the common app arts supplement. Now my dilema is that on the W&M supplement i checked "no" when it asked if i was submitting an arts supplement. So, what i did today was fill out the common app arts supplement and send it in the mail with my CD and i had my guitar teacher send his letter online. I wrote a short letter explaining what happened. Is it too late for me, or will they accept it?

i’m sure they will accept it

We will gladly still accept it but you should download the Supplement (http://www.wm.edu/admission/undergraduateadmission/documents/10-11freshmansupplement.pdf), re-do it and check the box that says you are submitting the art supplement and send that in along with the Common App Art Supplement form and your CD along with your explanation as to what happened (we do not require the accompanying letter from your music teacher although if your teacher sends it, that’s fine). Any CD that comes in without the appropriate box on the Supplement being checked is considered an optional submission and not an art submission for clarity of our process. If you resubmit the supplement (which you can fax to 757-221-1242) explaining that you want to ensure your art submission being sent under separate cover is reviewed by our music faculty we will be able to correct your original supplement.

Thank you. One more question though. I have already mailed the CD and arts supplement. Is it ok if fax the w&m supplement seperately? And will I also have to send a new copy of my optional essay?

You should fax a copy of your new Supplement with the art submission box checked along with a cover sheet explaining that your original Supplement submitted on line did not have the art submission box checked and that you already sent in your CD by mail. You do not have to resubmit your optional essay.

You may want to email Tish Lyte (nrlyte@wm.edu) and Cindy Rae Hart (crhart@wm.edu). They coordinate our art submissions an dyou can alert them of your situation.
