Can anyone explain the role of the arts supplement in the admissions process? If one were to turn in an excellent piano supplement -- very difficult repertoire played well -- along with a resume and placing in competitions etc, does this add much to the strength of the applicant?

In that case, I believe the Music and Arts department would review your piece and send their support to MIT Admissions. Certainly, it’s a cool thing to have on an application.

I think it’s one of those things that can only help you and not hurt you. If you can play difficult repertoire well, then you should submit a supplement, imo. :)
