with my stats m 710 , cr 690, w 710 and my 4.3 gpa i feel like i have little chance getting into mit cuz of my stan. scores.. does it help that i really emphasized my love of theater in my application and interview. Does that make me a little different than your typical mit candidata.

Your scores won't ruin your chances. People are accepted with sub-1400 scores (as I recall, MIT isn't considering the writing subscore, because it's a new test, and they don't have a baseline for it). As is said everywhere else, your entire application decides whether or not you're in, not just "lousy" scores or great art.

Basically I'm saying, there's no way for anyone (unless that anyone has your full file, and is an MIT admissions officer) to say whether or not you'll get in, or really have a chance of getting in. Many great students don't get in, I'm sure, particularly seeing as (in the case of EA, anyway) they have to defer/reject 88% of the applicants.
