As the May 3rd SAT approaches...

As everyone knows the May 3rd SAT is in like 2 weeks.

Since this will be my first and hopefully last time taking the SAT, I am looking to experienced SAT test takers for some advice.

First of all, what should I be doing two weeks before the test? the week of the test? two days before the test? the night before the test?

Additionally, I am very strong in Math (790-800). Writing is next (750-790 with 9-10 maybe 11 essay). Critical Reading is my weakest (720-770).
I really want and need to make above a 2300. So what should really focus on?

Any other advices such as what to bring, what kind of snacks to consume, and what kind of exercises to do or whatever would be extremely helpful.

I know I am freaking out but this is probably my only chance to take the SAT since I am applying ED and can't risk taking it in October.

Thank you all in advance!

Michael

P.S. By the time I get to section 7 or 8 on practice tests, my mind usually starts malfunctioning and I start missing really easy critical reading questions. What should I do to endure and solve this problem?

when is your ED? Most of the ones in my area are in November etc. So Oct. scores will be good.

I'm applying through a program which chooses applicants and sends their applications in September or October.

bring a powerbar and some water and really make yourself think you are interested in the test

Thanks for the comments.

I just took a previously administered May 2006 SAT test and to my dismay made a 2280.

I missed like 7 on CR (1 SC and 6 Passage-Based), 3 on the Writing MC, and 1 on Math because of careless mistake.

I really feel disappointed right now because I really need a 2300. Is there any last minute practice or prep. I can do before the May 3 SAT to give me a fighting chance for a 2300?

Thanks.

meh... you don't need a 2300. it's all the same.

Well, the thing is that I am going to apply to Stanford and I don't have any major hooks that I can think off except that I have a lot of regional and state awards for math and have been on the school basketball team since my freshmen year and have played on the Fall Varsity League.

My gpa is decent 99.4 U and like 101ish W. My ranking will probably be 1 or 2 from a class of about 200ish. I am also involved in a lot of school activities and clubs, but I am too tired to list them right now.

Because of all this, I feel like a SAT score below 2300 will severely hurt my chances of getting accepted to Stanford or will it?

Don't worry about it. If you get a 2280 it'll be fine for any school.

No, it won't- as long as it isn't too far below a 2300. A 1700, yeah, that would hurt your chances.:)

^^Thanks for the comforting news. I feel somewhat calmer.
