You need to focus on different schools as a B student. Some on your list are a very long shot. I live in NJ too, and you might get into Rutgers. TCNJ has become very hard. AVG SATs are about 1900 now.
Michigan, RPI, U Mass, Northeastern, BU, Stevens are very selective. Penn State and VT will be very hard OOS with those stats and no money.
Quinnipiac is a good idea. I would add Scranton, St Michael’s (Vermont), Susquehanna College, Rowan (in state), Marist, St. Anselm, Siena College, Ithaca College, Manhattan College, Loyola Maryland, St. Bonaventure and maybe Providence College. It just so happens many good schools for B students are Catholic.
Rowan? Not flashy, but might be good to have it on the list. Ave SAT looks around 1650, average GPA around 3.5.
A friend studied ME there, otherwise I’d probably not have heard of it.
I’m no expert on chances, but the average and middle 50 for some of the schools on your list are considerably above what you’ve posted. At Michigan, for example the average is like SAT (reading writing math) is like 2050, and the average GPA is around 3.8 (is like 95/100). That DOES NOT mean you can’t try, but you might be happier and more relaxed with fewer shiny things on The List.
Of course if the reading and math were both 700 and the writing was 100, ignore what I wrote.
Sat is quite low. My cousins go to BU and Northeastern and both of them were in the 1900s to 2000. My sister got into Rutgers and hers were in the 1900s also (she went to NYU). I don’t know if it’s true, but I’ve heard that some colleges are more “strict” towards asians and expect higher grades than average. Suggest going onto Findthebest.com to check what acceptance range your in.
