asian male interested in humanitities at MIT, Chicago, Georgetown, Princeton

<p>im a korean american (came here when i was ten) and moved during my sophomore year from washington to california. lot of personal issues and low family income</p>

<p>hook: im interested in history?? international relations?? would that make me stand out among other aisans?</p>

SAT: 690(CR) 790(M) 679(W)
SAT II: 710(history) 750(MII) 800(korean)
Rank: 3 out of like 600
currently in IB program. took 4 APs and got 5s on three tests and one 4</p>

founder of Model UN
attended Harvard summer school junior year
had a job at Jamba juice for one and a half year
wrestled for 5 years-MVP junior year, qualified for regional tournaments 10th and 11th, captain 12th
involved in acadeca and christian club(officer)
national merit semi-finalist at california</p>

<p>i know my scores may be a little low, but considering my circumstances, i think i did pretty well</p>

<p>you shouldn't choose a major purely because it would help you get into college, and you shouldn't choose a college purely because you've heard of it before.</p>

<p>Expect your korean sat 2 to be dismissed, but your church stuff looks ready to make up for that. I'd say you could do it, but it'd be a bit of a reach with the scores. Retake!</p>

<p>Your choice of major isn't a hook and probably won't benefit you at all, tbh. I think you might be in Chicago, maybe Georgetown, but I wouldn't count on MIT and Princeton.</p>
