Asianssss

Reading all the "CHANCE MEs" on this forum, there seems to be a high number of Asian applicants from the US applying ED.
How do you think that'll affect these applicants especially for Early decisions?

I'm only half asian myself, but I'm super curious... Cause that box is still checked for my common app...

Don’t know your chances but I will say that Northwestern seems to be 45% Asian, 45% Jewish, 10% other - and I’m only slightly kidding!

adcoms don’t like rejecting asians because of their superior kong fu skills. make sure you emphasize how dangerous you are and you should be ok.

Check mixed race instead. Way, way better odds.

And NU is only 17% Asian and 17% Jewish, which is low on BOTH for an elite school. Yale used to be something like 35% Jewish, for example.

I did check asian and the other race. As expected for Jews and Asians thing though. Long Island is chock full of both! haha

Actually depending on when “used to” is, Yale used to be 0% Jewish!

As in 10 years ago. It has gone down slightly (along with an increase in asian population and an increase in affirmative action).

I think arbiter meant if you check mixed race without specifying which races you are exactly.

AH. Thanks for clarifying. Regardless, my essay clearly states my races.
