Ask a BU Freshman

if a student does extremely well freshman year and receives no financial aid( EFC 2k) for that year, will BU increase grants significantly sophomore year?

waywardlife: i am pretty sure that if you decide you want to major in biomed engineering, you will have to apply for an internal transfer into the engineering school.

My daughter will be living on west campus. Any suggestions on which meal plan to take?

What’s myles like? (I’m an incoming freshman)

hey i am accepted to bu college of arts and sciences i was wondering if it is easy to switch to the business school

@jib723 - email or call the admissions office and request that they transfer you into SMG. if they have room and your transcript is good enough, it shouldn’t be an issue.

If I’m in CAS, can I take classes in the other schools? Or am I restricted to the classes offered strictly by CAS?

So how exactly is someone supposed to say BUCOP? Is each letter stated individually or is it pronounced a certain way?

During the tour, they pronounced it as Bew - Cop.

@lucylittle19
you’re allowed to take any classes in any school unless they have specific prerequisites or unless they’re reserved for students in their school. myles is a quiet dorm and somewhat detached from the main part of campus. it right in kenmore square. i would not recommend it for your first year

alectricity, does that mean I can have a major in CAS and a minor in Sargent, even though I’ve been accepted to CAS?

Also, is it possible to do a double minor?

oh yes most definitely. you can major in CAS and have a minor in Sargent. I’m currently in SMG and was pursuing a minor in spanish but decided to not do it. it is definitely possible though. and yes you can double minor as well

I’ve been accepted to CGS, however I didn’t get much aid because of some documents that were sent in late. Do students in CGS generally get less aid? Or, if I reapply will I get more aid during my sophomore year?

how did you find out where you will be staying? I sent in the housing survey, but it says that they won’t be making any room assignments until July/August…

So I know that Boston University is big on internships and coming out college with some work experience is a big decision factor for me. I’m trying to decide between Drexel and BU so I figured I’d try to figure out some info about BU’s internships…

1) When can you start doing internships at BU? Freshman year? No?

2) Are any of the internships paid? BU is expensive…

I’m already admitted to SMG and almost positive that I’m going. So anyone know is there a required minimum grade for 2rd/3rd trimester? Coz I’m like don’t want to study in senior spring.

Cordelia:

I have a feeling you won’t be too successful at BU with your attitude. Also, learn some grammar.

Cordelia, what tomofboston said. SMG is not the right place for you.

All freshmen engineering students need to complete 4.0 credit of Intro to Engineering, which can be consisted of many different 2.0-credit modules. How are they? Do they provide good introduction for engineering majors?

Does the BU grading system say that if everyone has about an A or A- average in his/her classes, the professors will not give everyone As despite the number of people who deserve them or will everyone be rewarded with As or A-s if they worked there?
