Congrats on your scholarship!
@hbrunner I’m wondering if the Regent and Chancellor’s Scholarship is tax exempt (I’m an international recipient and I’ve heard rumors floating around about how I might not recieve the full amount).
Another question I had was if the award amount each year is impacted by my financial situation (As of right now all of my financial needs are met through the award amount but my financial status is somewhat uncertain for the foreseeable future).
I’m sure that these questions will be addressed at the ROHP or CalDay but unfortunately I’m not able to attend these events
Thank you so much for your insight!
My daughter who is now graduating in a month is a Regents OOS student. I think there are less students who are OOS. I think its harder for OOS students. good luck!
@CountingSheeps The amount you receive varies year to year if your situation changes (it will never drop below the minimum). As for the tax thing I’m not sure for international students. I’d reach out to Anne. She’s the R&C financial aid officer and is helpful for all things regents. Congrats
can someone please explain how priority registration for regents works? do regents scholars get to actually register for classes earlier than everyone else?
also if anyone could put this in terms of specific registration dates/times for fall 2018 class registration that would be super helpful thanks!
Hello I’m a Regents UCB ‘23 incoming freshman. If I were to choose a more expensive place like Blackwell over a cheaper option like triple rooming, will the Financial aid from the Regents scholarship increase to cover my increased boarding costs? Conversely, if I pick a cheaper housing option, would the Scholarship amount shrink to fit my cost? I’ve heard conflicting information so I’m confused. Also, does choosing housing earlier give me any advantage in having a higher probability of getting my top pics? Thank you!
@verbalist being a Regents almost assuredly will let you get your top choice for a dorm since you will be near or at the top of the lottery list.
I’ll be attending next year as a regents scholar and I’m really excited!!! but was wondering
Where do most scholars live each year? Like freshman vs soph vs junior vs seniors
If I apply for housing with a roommate does priority extend to them?
