Ask ANY Cornell Question! Non-Admissions or School-Specifc.

You guys can ask me any questions here that are non-admissions related and not about a specific school about Cornell. So no "what are my chances" and no "how hard is CHEM212" etc. questions. I'll answer any stuff about the social scene, greek scene, academics, work, classes, food, etc. Any thing you can think of Cornell-related I'll try to answer or you can PM me.

P.S.- no questions asking me how good each dorm is. they're all good and donlon is the most social, and transfers should live in hasbrock.

So, a few quick questions:

What will the admissions staff think of my low SATII score in US History?

How hard IS Chem 212?

Are the bathrooms in Dickson clean? What about Mews?

Do you think I have a shot at CAS ED?

Thanks in advance for your response!

what gives you a better chance in to getting med school school ogf agriculture and l;ife sciences or arts and SciEncEs

it doesn't matter what school you're in, you could be in ILR and have a better chance at med school. just keep your GPA up, do well in your pre-med courses, do well on your MCAT, and do some research.

but i have so many housing questions :(

okay PM me them to me I guess.

I am pretty sure that over 90% of the students have questions about dorms....hey what do you expect from us, since we just found out our assigments?

it's just that I can't tell you everything about each dorm because there are so many and you guys can't choose which one you get.

^^^Agreed. I'm not sure what's the point of asking about your dorm. Why don't you just wait until you arrive on campus? You can't change your room assignments and I feel that anything said on this forum will just bias your judgment towards the dorm.

question - when does the first snow fall (month) and when does the last snow melt at Cornell? Approximately..

what is the standard rate of bribery that will maximize effectiveness to professors?

ktoto- well this year it snowed kind of late, i think it snowed in late november. and then it snowed on and off through out spring semester and we had a huge snow fall where school was closed down on Valentine's Day. All the snow melted in early april.

don't forget the snow on April 16th, the VT day. That one was a lot

I remember that day...people going to class on skis. They were certainly going a lot faster than me. Luckily, the afternoon classes got cancelled.

should we even get skis when we get to Cornell? Will there be a lot of oportunities to ski (just for fun)?

if you're really into skiing then you should go to Greek Peak which is a mountain resort about 30minutes away I believe. I've never been there because I don't ski but some people I know enjoy it.

hows life for transfers?
which is better... single room or double?

well, no one can really tell you whether a single is better than a double... it all depends on your personal preference/needs! If the social factor concerns you, then I guess getting a double is understandable, but if you are a social person then you should be fine either way...

ps. are ppl still signing up for housing!?! seems a bit late... lol

single room
