Lol the food is what you would expect at a college. Eickhoff (the dining hall) has a variety of stuff available daily, although it can get boring after a while. They renovated part of it this past summer and added a nice salad bar and sandwich bar. Apparently they’re renovating the rest of it this summer.

My favorite place on campus is the library cafe. They serve Starbucks brand coffee, bagels, paninis, wraps. However, I think most other people would argue that the Rat (Rathskellar) and T-Dubs are the best places on campus. I guess you could consider it more like fast food type stuff. They have burgers, wraps, french fries, mozzarella sticks, burritos, salads, etc. T-Dubs is located in the basement of Travers and Wolfe and is opened at night. The Rat is in the student center. There is also a food court in the student center.

What are the times that the dining halls serve certain meals? Like when does breakfast end and lunch begin, etc?

well eickhoff opens at 7:30 during the week and 10 on the weekend. i think during the week they serve breakfast until 12ish and then start dinner around 4ish. on the weekends they’ll serve breakfast until i think 4. eickhoff closes at 9 sun-thurs and at 8 fri and sat. the other locations on campus serve either a mix of things (library cafe, stud food court) while others (T-Dubs) will serve just lunch/dinner things.

Should I take Calculus B as a bio major looking at med school? Inorganic Chem I+II?
And I know if I got to the School of Chemistry’s website I can look at all the courses they offer and descriptions. Where can I find that for biology?

I am not taking calc B. I am going to take statistics. Most of the med schools I have looked up only seem to require calc A and on the bio website I think they state that people who are majoring in something other than bio only need to take calc A for the premed requirements. After orgo, the only other chem class I may take is biochemistry. I have no intention of taking inorganic

if you go to the TCNJ website and type in “biology courses” in the search, choose the second link that says “biology” and that should bring you to a document that describes all the courses

wait this may be really stupid of me but i thought general chemistry I and II is pretty much synonymous with inorganic chemistry I and II… is this true or may i totally off? So don’t you have to take inor/gen chem I and II?

i’m actually not sure lol but you def have to take gen chem I and II and orgo I and II. ok so i’m told there is a course called inorganic but i’m not sure what material it covers (can you tell chem is not my favorite subject lol?). anyway as a bio major you are not requried to take inorganic chem

would taking anatomy and physiology be worth the credits? i kind of want to take it since i didn’t in high school

ohh okay HazelEyez and same here i’m not too much of a chem person myself someone i think once told me about the in./gen. same thing haha…anyways i did take honors chem junior year of hs but didnt go as far as AP chem (chose AP bio instead senior year), but do you think this is enough to potentially do well in gen. chem 1 + 2 or should i be doing self study, etc…

according to the bio site “students intending to apply to medical school should NOT take human anatomy and physiology,” so if you intend to apply to med school then I’d say no. now they do offer animal physiology and comparative vertebrate anatomy (and lots of others that can count for your options courses) in case you are interested in that.

you should be fine in gen chem. I too only had honors chem in high school (and my teacher was an absolute idiot) and somehow managed to pull off an A- in honors chem last semester. chem is just something that does not come easily to me so personally i have to work really hard at it.

same here with chemistry. glad to see im not alone

chem and physics are just so boring to me. hence the reason why i am a bio major ;)

not bad att all lol you should be proud of yourself and how is general chem II going so far and is it also honors level?

yep i am still in honors for gen chem II. so far i am exactly where i was last semester in gen chem I lol. I am a bit of a perfectionist though so to me nothing other than a 100 is good enough lol. but my prof is very nice and supportive so it makes it all just a little better :)

how many classes do people take on average per semester? four or more?

does your prof help you in class? or do you go to office hours

most people take 4 (16 credits total). however, you are actually allowed up to 18 credits, so I am also in choir/band (these classes are only worth 1-2 credits). after freshman year you can request permission to take 5 courses. i think engineering majors though may take 5 normally.

both. class really justs consists of her talking and doing examples but she gladly answers any questions at any time during the class. i also go to office hours (when i can) and she happily goes over anything you want.

this is a bit subjective but do you find that if you work hard, keep up with the course load, and study hard you see results in your grades?? In other words, i was wondering if like you truly worked hard you would see the results bc sometimes i hate when teachers give like gay, odd type exams and it doesn’t reflect your knowledge you know what i mean? So are the exams reasonable?
