idk, maybe try calling:

(800) 986-9895

Do the dorm rooms have wireless?

no they are not. you have to get an ethernet cord.

are any of the common areas wireless? classrooms?

the library and the sitting area right outside of it is wireless and i think all (or at least most) of the academic buildings are wireless too. You could also pick up wireless in other areas (I’ve accomplished it before) but i guess it depends on where you are in relation to the library. however, if you connect to a wireless netowrk other than the school’s and they detect it they could quarantine your computer/kick you off of the internet.

Also, although you may not remember or know about this one, if you applied to both Rutgers and TCNJ which school gives out more financial aid?

i would say in my case it was TCNJ because part of the reason why i chose TCNJ over Rutgers was the fact that TCNJ was cheaper (and my mom is even an alumnus of Rutgers).

do all of the fraternities and sororities have houses?

as far as i know they do, but then i’m not exactly an expert on this type of stuff lol. i do know they do not have houses on campus so i would assume they all have off campus locations.

to clarify hazeleyez…there is no “greek row” at tcnj. however, yes the sororities and fraterities at tcnj do have off campus houses. if you are a brother or sister you can choose to live at one of their off campus houses rather than living on campus in one of the dorms.

The aid offer they give us now, will it be the same as the final amount come summertime? If not, does it increase or decrease?

In addition to whatever merit aid they may have given you, you could also be offered state/federal aid (stuff that would come from the FAFSA like stafford loans, grants, etc.) We were notified of this aid online through our PAWS account. You have to go online and accept/decline this aid. I remember last year they had issues with the system or something so we didn’t find out this aid amount until over the summer (they even had to extend the deadline for the fall semester bills because some people found out even later) but you are definitely supposed to hear back before then, so if you haven’t been notified of this aid yet I would keep up with them.

Also, the amount of merit aid they offer you will not decrease, unless it’s a type of award that requires you to maintain a certain grade, etc.

No I meant financial I’m not getting any merit from them. I have gotten my initial aid offer and have heard that they end up offering you a little more later on in the summer

Yes the financial (not merit) aid was what I was talking about. You could get offered more later over the summer. I didn’t even get my financial offer until the summer but like I said before they had an issue with ours so you could possibly hear sooner.

i’ve heard that tcnj is reputable and well known relatively in nj and like the northeast… but as far as their pre med program goes/bio, is it well known and reputable in farther locations you know wat i mean??

One more question about money do you think that tuition will raise a lot for next year?

I honestly don’t know how well TCNJ is known in say like the south or the west, but you know it’s reputation around here and you’ve seen it’s stats for getting students into med school so I’m sure the bio program is pretty well known.

From what I’ve heard it doesn’t sound like tuition is going to increase by any crazy amount. It seems like the school is looking elsewhere to cut costs.

i hope so bc when i talk to people, my friends, etc. no one is truly aware of the apparent rigor here so that is why i am always alittle nervouss.

I think part of the problem is that TCNJ has begun upping its standards only recently - not like just yesterday recent but I’d say within maybe the past 10 years you know what I mean? It’s just begun to build its name and it may take a while for it to get the name recognition it deserves, but the important thing is that the people who do know the school know it for its valuable education.

How is the food at TCNJ, and where is the best place to get some grub? I figure I might as well get a heads up on how the eats are
