I transferred into Chapman (Dodge, more specifically) this past August and vividly remember freaking this time last year on my admission decision. Thought I’d make this open discussion for if you have any questions on admissions, campus, or really pertaining to Chapman. I’ll do my best to answer everything!

Hi! My S is an EA admit for Dodge-Digital Arts, but has not yet committed.
Ditto @quentinRJJA 's questions on dorms & the Honors program. Will it be Morlan? It appears that Morlan has all external doors to the dorms, so there’s no internal hallway. How does that impact socializing?
If you could provide any insight on the Digital Arts program, and how it overlaps with other students/activities within Dodge (cores taken together? do they all hang out together or stick within their own sections?) that would be great!
Thank you!
I applied for creative producing! I heard back May 5th, which was surprisingly late. I knew of people hearing back weeks before I did, so naturally, I was very concerned. All worked out though! I also know of people who didn’t hear back until very late May.
I transferred in from another 4 year university with a 3.4 GPA. I know people who got in with GPAs above and below that. I think that Chapman, and specifically Dodge, looks for talent over grades!
Not entirely sure what dorm freshman will be in next year, as it always changes. They’re building an entirely new complex right next to Dodge, and I’m assuming that some freshman will be housed there. This year, most freshman are in South Morlan. It’s not the nicest of dorms but definitely the most social. People always have their doors open and are running in and out of their friends rooms.
I think I answered this Morgan question below! Like I said, it’s defintily the most social of the dorms. It’s an ongoing joke that the freshman love to hate it. As far as the DA program, it’s amazing! The DMAC building is where I spend most of my time studying. Most Dodge and DA students tend to stick to making friends in their major, just because it’s where they spend the most time. GE’s are usually taken on campus, and that can create a crossover as well. Although I have tons of main campus friends because I went out of my way to join clubs and meet more people. It really depends on how willing each person is to get involved outside of their major!
Transfer to Chapman University: What are my chances?
Hello, I am currently finishing my last semester (hopefully) at community college. I would like to transfer to Chapman as a Biology major with a minor in business, however my gpa is a bit low for my expectations at a 3.1 at the time of transfer. Is this too low to get in. I’m really nervous about applying because of this. Thank you!
@hbh1008 hi! I’m an accepted transfer student and I have some questions —I’m trying to decide between Chapman, UCI and Pitzer. At Chapman, I would be studying English with an emphasis in Journalism and I would be in honors. I’d also like to minor in Poli. Sci. Or PR.
My goal is pre-law and I’d like to know how accessible professors are and how academically rigorous you find your classes to be. Making good relationships and getting a great GPA is key. Do you know if Chapman students go on to top graduate programs? Is the advising good?
How is the student body? Is it somewhat diverse? I am kind of worried about the recognition of Chapman outside of the immediate area and just want the investment to be worth it!
Any help you can provide would be so appreciated!
