<p>If this teacher only knew me for 1 semester is it okay for me to ask them for a letter of recommendation? They teach the field of science that I plan to go into and I think they know me pretty well.</p>
<p>The important part is them knowing you and having a good connection. If you believe they would right you a great letter of rec, get one from them.</p>
<p>I’m heavily considering doing this as well, but I’m also involved with this teacher outside of school in ECs (though she hasn’t been the advisor in the past, so I still won’t have known her for very long). If you think your teacher can write a solid, well-informed rec after a short amount of time, go for it. But be sure to speak up in class and maybe stay after school to chat to make sure the teacher has enough material to write about.</p>
