Hi! I'm a Senior in HS taking all my classes at the local community college. I've completed all required credits to graduate HS, but my school doesn't have an option to graduate early. They have a dual enrollment option so I'm doing that.

Anyways, I'm taking an American Sign Language class because I was just interested in learning it, and my HS requires me to take 5 academic classes a semester.

I'm passing the class test-wise, and we have vocabulary checks, homework, and Sign Presentations. I'm doing great in all of this, but there's one thing I'm falling way behind in: Community Learning Experience. 10 hours are required for the class in which the student must attend signed plays (which cost money), attend game nights (which costs money), or any other event that involves interacting directly with deaf people.

If we don't get 10 hours, our Professor has to fail us, and I'm so worried that I won't be able to get my 10 hours in by the time grades are due simply because of the fact that I'm a little young for a Senior (so I can't meet up at the bars like some of my peers who are 21+ can), and I can't drive and I don't have money to attend actual plays and musicals like Wicked, which is interpreted.

I don't know if I should drop the class (if my counselor lets me, because like I said I have to have 5 academic classes per semester), or tough it out and take my final and do my best but fail the class. I don't want it to look bad on my college applications because I've never failed a class before, and this one is especially bad because it's a full-fledged college course. What if colleges think I can't handle the pressure?

There are hardly any other alternatives as far as community service goes. I know 10 hours isn't a lot by any means, but it's not going out cleaning a park for 5 hours--it's talking with actual deaf people, so I'd get 30 mins a meeting.

Anyways, I'm gonna stop here so it doesn't sound like a rant hahah. I just want some advice--should I try my best and fail, or should I see if I can drop it (even though it's probably going to stay on my transcript that I dropped a class)?

Boo :c
