I was like you and filled it out super early. But I found that the more I looked at it, I kept finding little tiny errors. So rather than jump the gun and submit it day 1, I just waited to make sure it was as perfect as I wanted it to be. I didn’t want to submit it, realize I made a huge error, and not be able to fix it.

That’s what I was hoping your answer would be, and what I plan to do. My thought is, November is going to be nuts with Q&A around here, so I will just hang out most of the month in here listening for any possible errors I myself might have made, and fix them.

@fullload It was by choice. My application was done at the beginning of the month and the final draft of my personal statement on the 23rd.

Fulload just do it whenever you want. I mean, really.

Candles/Calbro, any chance you could share what your GPA and major was when you applied? Thanks, no worries if you don’t want to.

Lindy, yeah I know, just tossing around ideas at this point.

I get it but… :-h

And I don’t mean this in a bad way, but when I feel it moves into hand-holding every step if the way, I get ornery. That’s my problem and feel free to yell at me.

You got some good answers already, luckie’s being VERY RELEVANT. :">

Check your PM @fullload . I sent you my academic transcript. My accepted GPA (winter grades) was 3.73 and I got into both UCLA and Berkeley.

I’ve been very open with my modest GPA.

I had a 3.63 when I submitted my app. I think it was like 3.66 when I did my update in January.

My last 54-ish units were all A’s and 1 B, but from many years prior, I had 1 A, B, C, F, so that brought me way down.

Thanks lindyk8, I try to be helpful.

I think submitting is the right time between having the application complete and feeling confident that it is your best work. To early you’ll stress about making mistakes or forgetting something and to late you’ll stress about getting it in on time and paid for. I’m thinking mid November for myself.

Sorry you also asked about major.

I applied to UCLA as a Sociology major. I applied to UCI as a psychology and social behavior major.

I was a Social Science Major at my CC. I also managed to get an AA in Liberal Studies- Math & Science.

Nice, thanks for sharing guys.

Lindsy, I’m not asking for hand-holding. But I appreciate the note.

I don’t mean it badly. Its me being ornery…

Candles, yeah, I have 2 B’s and a C from 15 years ago I can’t shake (4.0 since then). Fortunately, only the C is UC transferable, so it will keep me around 3.8 or so by the time Spring comes around.

good stuff guys, thanks. :)

Mine are 15 years old too. I’m sure they realize that I and you are completely different students than we were then. I’m very confident you’ll be judged mostly on your recent work.

Yeah, I don’t know how teenagers and early 20s folks can do it. I was all over the place then, could barely stay focused in life. Now, A’s just come easy to me. Back then, it was like pulling teeth.

It’s crazy to think that 1999 was fifteen years ago.
