I am a history major hoping to transfer to UCSB from a CCC. My GPA will be a 3.0 and I will be IGETC certified. I don't qualify for TAG since I cannot take my math class until the spring before transfer.

I will have all my prerequisites done except for 1 class. It is a third world history class requirement. I am unable to take this because I work full time and all CCCs only offer it in the day time. I plan on explaining this in my essay.

However, I wanted to take a different UC-transferable history class in place of that one and will be able to. Apparently you are supposed to complete 2 out of 3 history sequences + 1 third world history elective. I will have completed all of the sequences but not the third world elective.

Is this a good idea? I think it will show interest. Has anyone done this before and can they give me some insight?
