Ast1002?

Anyone know of this class? As of now, there are 5 classes open, with 171, 77, 150, 56, and 79 seats. However, Section0424 is not there. The teacher for this section is Eikenberry who I heard is a good teacher. But to me, it seems like something has to be wrong. Can he really be that good of a teacher, and everyone knows about it? It just seems odd to me with this many seats available in the other 4 sections, this class would be closed out and everyone would have known to join his class rather than the other 4 sections. Does anyone know anything about this, and about the other teachers teaching this? Thanks.

I took it with him last semester… and I know I chose him because he had the best reviews on rate my professor compared to the others who were teaching it. I’m assuming others did the same or heard about him from others who’ve had him

My friend is taking it with Eikenberry and says he is great! If you want an easy A, take it with Smith (I have him right now). He is a very sweet man but he is boring sometimes. I think Eikenberry is a little more lively - but also more challenging

Smith’s class is also closed out. I find it odd how every single person (seems like a 150+ person class) would know to go for both of these teachers and avoid the other three when there are so many spots available but the two seem to be closed.

well the class is science for people who don’t really like science. The people picking the class are generally looking for an easy P class, not specifically AST1002, and the class as a whole doesn’t seem like an automatic A for those in it so when you take out the best and easiest professor its not going to be the easiest P out there. Is it either your first or second semester? It gets easier to get desirable classes as you go on, and yes it is pretty competitive to get certain classes and profs as almost everyone does at least some sort of research before registration.
