Astronomy C10 Midterm?

If you've taken this class in the past, how is the difficulty of the midterm? And does the exam usually draw more from lecture notes, or the textbook? :) Thanks.

took it a year ago, from what i remember, you should be very comfortable with manipulating the math and should probably memorize any star that has a number attached to it. idk where u guys are right now, but i remember a few Qs about important stars. er, maybe you should know moon and planets and moons of planets like the back of your hand. but definitely it draws more from lecture notes, those save lives. IDK, Alex gave you a practice midterm right? shouldnt deviate much from that at all (may even repeat a few Qs to be honest)

You should memorize at least 100, 000 stars. Any less and you will most definitely fail. Well, I suppose you can just memorize 1000 and get a C…

with a name like starrynights, its GOTTA be true

haha~ LOL xD

Yeah, I guess I’m just in the business of self promotion xD

Questions are similar to those in the practice midterm. The multiple choice questions at the end of each chapter in the textbook are also similar to what you can expect to see on the midterm. Look at previous midterms (there are a couple of them on ninjacourses, some on dc++ too). The type of questions don’t really change much every year, usually 1-2 repeats too. You also need to be able to manipulate some of the formulas covered in order to solve certain questions. Past MTs will give you a clear idea of what to expect. Did I mention look at previous MTs?
