ASU Pre-Nursing Program

So I understand that ASU’s nursing program is very highly ranked, and that the upper division program is EXTREMELY competitive to get into. My question is how hard is it if you have already been admitted to ASU, to change your major to be in the LOWER division nursing program? I know that if I want to get into the upper division program I may have to retake on or two classes, but if I could change my major to nursing while considered lower division in order to take those HCR classes that you cannot take if you’re any other major, I think I could really boost my GPA. So how hard is it to get into the Traditional Pre-Licensure Program/Lower Division?

It was fairly easy for me to actually get switched but very difficult for me to find the right person to talk to. Before I switched to Nursing I was a Pre Health major at downtown phoenix, and already having a major at Downtown Phoenix helps, they said. Also to switch to a nursing major you need to call admissions and ask for them to re-evaluate your application for nursing (theres a special admissions process involved with nursing that is different from the admissions process required for simply ASU) There are also a list of requirements you must meet. I’m not sure what they were, (perhaps check the college of nursing’s website) and they said I met all the requirements and 2 weeks later I was officially switched. After you call admissions and ask for them to re-evaluate you email Cheryl Herrera, cherylherrera@asu.edu and she will tell you if you can switch or not and where in the process your application is.
Hope I could help!
